Driving the 2012 Kia Optima

So you’re riding down the streets of Los Angeles and all eyes are on you. In fact, one young man actually gives you the ‘thumbs up’. Funny thing is… you know exactly why you’re getting so much attention. It’s because you are driving the new Kia Optima, which is one of the most competitive and luxurious cars on the road today.

What you are driving is pure class! That’s why all the looks and the turning heads as you pass by. It has just enough detail on it to give it that elegant, rich look, yet it is very economical to buy and to run. In fact, the 2012 Optima has been elected Sedan of the Year.

Look at what makes it so elegant:

  • Standard seventeen inch alloy wheels
  • Chrome door handles
  • Chrome exhaust tips
  • Body color mirrors
  • Vibrant colors with a deep gloss paint
  • Standard fog lights

On the inside of the car, the classiness and luxury follow through including an eight speaker Infinity audio system with voice activated communications and infotainment center. The passenger room has been increased to one hundred two cubic feet. One thing about the 2012 Optima is that you immediately forget you are in a mid-sized car. You actually tend to believe that you are in a high-end luxury vehicle and that’s why all the looks from people as you pass by.

We are talking heated steering wheels, heated seats, sun-roof and believe it or not, a glove box that has a cooling function that helps keep water bottles cool.

Some history and trivia tells us that the Kia Optima 2010 sedan was manufactured by Kia Motors in 2000. From the first car designed it has been marketed as the Optima, however in Europe and Canada when it began being sold there in 2002, it was named Kia Magentis.

Then, the second generation models appeared and in the South Korean market the name was Kia Lotze. Today, the Optima name is used globally, except in China where the name will remain Kia Lotze.

In summary, few mid-sized cars can compare to the new Kia Optima. However, there is one one thing that consumers would probably question, besides the affordability, and that would be the unbelievable drive of the car that puts a little disbelief in their mind.

They wonder… “Who’s not in a luxury car, cause you could have fooled me!”
